Everyoneis a crowd
No one is a single thing. Ask somebody what they do and you get a job title, which is about the least interesting answer they've got.
The accountant who rebuilds carburetors on weekends. The nurse who reads about the fall of Rome at 2am. The title is just the tip of it.. the rest of the person is a whole crowd that never makes it onto the business card.
This is mine. Some of it doesn't line up, and I stopped trying to make it.

So what holds a 'crowd' together like that? Same habit every time. Almost all of it is something I run or build/rebuild myself instead of renting from someone else.
The Stoics, Lao Tzu and Hunter S. Thompson disagree about nearly everything, but each of them is about a person running himself.
